In the Italian Alps in 1963, Wendy Moldonia runs a luxury mountain chateau hotel following the death of her husband (they keep hinting about his “side” in World War 2…). She has become a strong-willed woman who hides her vulnerability behind layers of wit, cutting remarks, and several Bombardinos a night.
This 4-hour slow moving epic culminates in a 45-minute choreographed dance in which Wendy dances with a younger version of herself and eats a venison heart. That’s imagery.
Apparently Wdea means wow in Latin…?
